Our services are relaxed, our hearts are excited, and our coffee is strong! The usual service format starts with prayer and worship, leading into a sermon/talk with an offering, communion and intercessions, more music, then fellowship & refreshments after.
All ages share service and communion together the first Sunday of each month.
Sunday Worship & Holy Communion
Every other Sunday of the month.
Junior Church & Crèche
Every Sunday of the month (except the first for Junior Church, the crèche is always open). St Peter’s is a wonderful place for families and to meet new local friends. Junior Church provides kid-friendly ministry and activities for children ages 4 and up, with separate sessions for older groups. Babies and toddlers can frolic in the crèche, with the sermon streaming on audio for parents and minders.
Praise & Worship
Live music is led by our Worship Team, with a mix of old and new. You’re welcome to worship however you feel comfortable, the banners at the front are great for a splash of colour.
Giving is an expression of our thankfulness for God’s blessing, and is key to keeping St Peter’s going! This is a personal decision between you and God, and if you are able to give with either time or money, please do. Monetary tithes are collected during the Offering portion of the service or can be set up through direct debit.
Holy Communion is available to anyone who wishes to participate. The sacraments are received by opening your hands in front of you as you approach the server. You can ask for a blessing instead by crossing your hands on your chest. Children receive blessings during Holy Communion, too. Gluten free and alcohol free provisions are available, please ask when you’re at the front.
EVERYONE is welcome at St Peter’s
Join us for tea, proper coffee and a catch up after every Sunday service! St Peter’s also hosts lunches and dinners together throughout the year, in addition to small Bible study house groups and a growing ministry of age-specific events to encourage fellowship with one another.
Prayer support plays an incredibly important role in our parish life. Confidential prayer is available to ALL every Sunday at the 10:30am service (by the front piano), just approach the ministers for prayer when you feel you’re ready. We also have a dedicated Prayer Chain who continuously pray for our members and our community, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any prayer requests.
Supporting Our Community & The Arts
St Peter’s core congregation is comprised of artists from various disciplines and creativity is something we’re passionate about nurturing and encouraging. The vicar is a practicing fine artist and recently launched the Art & Spirituality Group at The Vicarage. St Peter’s hosts the private view and group show for Brockley Open Studios in the summer. We are a proud supporter of all community events in and around Brockley, so if you’re an artist, student or otherwise looking for a spiritual home, stop by!
